- Compensation - We support transparency, equity, and fairness in
our compensation programs and provide a reasonable estimate of the
salary range, based on data-driven market analysis, for each job
posting. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at
or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary
range for this role in Washington, DC (Headquarters) is $157,400 -
$229,600 per year. Team members may also be eligible for
performance-based discretionary awards.
- Hybrid work option - Staff will be assigned to the Washington,
DC (Headquarters) office. Staff can choose to live and work from
anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute
to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional
gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their
supervisor.

employee deductions.Role SummaryThe PCAOB has a full-time position
as a Data Architect in the Office of Chief Operating Officer -
Office of Technology (OCOO-OT). This role will be responsible for
creating the architecture and blueprints for building modern
cloud-based data systems and capabilities that align with business
strategy and technology standards while ensuring data security and
compliance.Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PCAOB Divisions and Offices to translate
business requirements into practical data solutions, including the
design of databases, data flows, and data storage systems.
- Create procedures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility by
establishing and implementing data management processes for
efficient data handling.
- Establish processes and procedures to support the
rationalization of data sources to reduce data replication and
silos.
- Define Data Architecture Framework, considering security,
reference data, metadata, and master data.
- Research Data Acquisition Opportunities; stay informed about
data sources and emerging technologies.
- Participate in detailed solution design sessions for data
projects and review final solutions to ensure alignment with the
PCAOB's data architecture.
- Develop data and metadata documentation for structural design
and development.
- Work with senior business stakeholders to secure strong
engagement for solutions and ensure alignment with long-term
strategic roadmaps.
- Develop all aspects of ETL processes necessary to deliver data
and analytic outputs, including data loading, cleansing, storing,
quality, transformation, and extraction.
- Identify data and relationships that address business
issues.
- Analyze and interpret trends in complex, large datasets using
available tools.
- Effectively communicate complex findings into actionable
results for high-level discussions with
management.QualificationsEducation/Technical Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or
a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data warehousing, data
modeling, data analytics, and cloud computing.
- Deep knowledge of data management, integration, migration, and
development techniques.
- Hands-on experience with database technologies (e.g., Azure
Analytics Services, SQL, NoSQL, SQL Server, Databricks).
- Expert understanding of architectural strategies for data
modeling and preparation for AI.
- Deep hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, and/or R; experience
with SAS or Stata.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and platforms: Azure, Azure Synapse
Analytics, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, Informatica ETL, and
PowerBI.
- A self-starter able to manage several ongoing assignments,
requiring autonomy and independent judgment.
- Ability to articulate a position with sound logic and
supporting empirical evidence.
- Ability to effectively represent OCOO-OT to internal and
external constituencies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including
teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without
the need for employer sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with agile methods and capable of supporting agile
project teams.
- Professional certification in data science or analytics.All
